Often E-mail messages are sent by computers infected with a virus. The message that you receive may contain an attachment labeled alert.txt. The alert.txt attachment is created by the Eastern mail server. The Alert.txt file is NOT a virus; it is a simple text document that details what the mail server found to be improper. It will either detail the virus it found and cleaned, or the file name that it blocked. Certain types of attachments are executable files, and therefore capable of carrying viruses, so are blocked by the mail server.
